Spotlight 2: Gareth Steed: “The 21st Century was when everything changed!”
The 21st Century was when everything changed!
The advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution has changed the focus of education in ways unprecedented since the introduction of the factory education system during the first industrial revolution. Schools are being dragged, kicking and screaming, into the 21st Century; but are leader, teachers and students ready for this seismic shift in schooling?
The role of the current and next generation of school leaders will be pivotal in the success or failure of schools, as we move towards a future that is ambiguous, unpredictable and uncertain. During my talk, I will discuss how leaders can thrive in this uncertainty, demonstrate what schools need to do to keep up, and argue that the future is actually an exciting time for teachers and students alike.
